EastLink sponsors The Backyard in March (Ringwood 13-27 March)

The Backyard in March is an exciting visual and performing arts program (13 March to 27 March) in the heart of the Ringwood arts precinct.
EastLink is sponsoring The Backyard in March to help the local community reconnect with local artists following the pandemic lockdowns of 2020 and 2021.
'The Backyard' is a one of kind outdoor space in central Ringwood that is rarely open to the public. It features a series of murals by renowned local and international female street artists including, “one of the 32 pieces of street art to see before you die" - Vogue Australia.
Following careful COVID-safe protocols, The Backyard in March will provide an opportunity to enjoy the arts in an outdoor setting.
The program will include live music, urban art tours, indigenous art and weaving workshops, and a new production by Fresh Theatre for Social Change with catering provided by social enterprise Holy Cheesus.

Ringwood Urban Art Tours
Developed in partnership with Eastland shopping centre, the Ringwood Urban Art Tours showcase some of the diverse and ground-breaking public art in the Ringwood arts precinct including works at Ringwood Station, along Maroondah Highway, in the Eastland carpark and the unique Backyard.
The tours highlight the ways in which local, nationally and internationally recognised artists have responded to public spaces in the heart of the Ringwood arts precinct.

Indigenous Art and Weaving Workshops
Learn traditional weaving and painting techniques from Aunty Daphne Milward and Aunty Irene Norman in two arts workshops in the Backyard. The workshops will run concurrently.
Indigenous boomerang and rock painting workshop
Join Elder Aunty Daphne Milward from the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place for a workshop exploring Indigenous boomerang and rock painting.
