EastLink prices to change on 1 July 2018

EastLink tolls are changing on 1 July 2018 in line with inflation (CPI +1.9%) and in accordance with the EastLink Concession Deed agreed with the State of Victoria.

However, EastLink will continue to offer the lowest tolls in Australia.

For cars, 10 of EastLink’s 13 toll sections will be priced at either 42 cents (+1 cent) or 63 cents (+1 cent). A 20% discount applies to each single section car trip on weekdays (excluding the tunnel section), and for each car trip on weekends and public holidays. When the 20% discount applies, the new prices of these 10 toll sections will be 33 cents and 51 cents respectively.

EastLink's toll cap for cars will change from $6.13 to $6.25. On weekends and public holidays, when the 20% discount applies, the toll cap for cars will be $4.99.

Some of the fees and amounts that apply to EastLink accounts will also change on 1 July 2018, for example:

  • The Minimum Balance Amount for pre-paid accounts will be $14.10 - account top ups become due when your account balance drops below this level.
  • The Top Up Amount minimum will be $35.
  • The Image Processing Fee will be 30 cents - the image processing fee is charged for each trip made on EastLink using an account but without a valid tag.

The Account Opening Amount (which is a pre-payment on the account balance) is changing from $40 to $55. This amount has not been changed since EastLink opened in 2008. The change this year is simply based on the inflation change since 2008.
