Sustainability
Our Responsibilities

ConnectEast recognises that our responsibilities extend to delivering social and environmental improvement to the regions in which we operate.
To guide and govern our actions we have developed the following values statement:
Sustainable development for the ConnectEast Group seeks to optimise the benefits we can generate for society and the environment over the long term while meeting the legitimate financial, social and environmental obligations of a public company in accordance with the fiduciary duty of its directors and senior management.
ConnectEast’s first priority is to remain sustainable as a business and so the initiatives we pursue are aimed at creating a benefit to our bottom line as well as broader benefits for the community and environment.
To govern and drive ConnectEast’s ongoing approach to building and enhancing our social and environmental sustainability, a Sustainability Committee, chaired by the Managing Director and reporting to the Board, is leading larger scale, top-down corporate sustainability initiatives. A staff committee is overseeing GreenConnect, a program that encourages all employees and contractors to identify and implement smaller scale, bottom-up sustainability improvements, especially relating to the environmental impact of work practices.
Each year, our Annual Report will include updates on our environmental and social sustainability initiatives.
